Description

Something new I've currently got in the works. Fusing the Metro UI with the OSX concept of Launchpad.

Perfect for tablet users and desktop users alike, it offers the speed and the ease of the Start menu and adds a touch-friendly interface needed for tablets.

And for those keyboard-only users, I haven't forgotten about you. This offers all the benefits of hitting the Start key > type when it comes to searching / launching applications.

==========================================

This is a pre-alpha preview release. While I'm interested in bug reports and suggestions, I can't commit a huge amount of time to troubleshoot problems at the moment.

If you do happen to run across a problem, please email the issue to four13designs@optusnet.com.au with 'Project Sunflower' in the subject line. I won't be troubleshooting bug reports in the comments any more.

From the last couple of projects I've asked users to send bug reports to the email as this is the easiest way to keep track of issues and the fastest way to receive a response. It's a huge pain in the ass having to scroll through pages of comments looking for a particular issue I might be working on.

Anyway, on to what to expect from this preview version...

On first run, it'll search through the collective start menu (the local user and the all user start menus) and create a database of any applications it finds. It will automatically excluded any readme and uninstall files.

- Pressing F10 hides / shows the menu.

- When shown, typing will start the filtering of the menu. You do not have to click anything to start typing.

- The arrow keys move inside the grid.

- Page up / down cycles through the pages as does the scroll wheel.

- To organize your applications, simply click the icon and drag it to a category.

- Enter starts the highlighted application as does clicking on the icon.

- Drag files from explorer on to the icon to open the file in the application.

- Escape exits out of the application.
